For Busby SEO Challenge – Science vs. philosophy

July 7th, 2008

As my first post for the Busby SEO Challenge, I want to talk about the 2 “almost the same” concepts – scientific and philosophical thinking.

Before, the scientific approach of learning was just mainly about Stimulus and then response. It was far too different from philosophy at that time. It was changed through time with a lot of explanations is somehow ‘related’ to its opposite before, the philosophical approach.

As more and more days pass by, they are becoming related. Actually, they are just about/ becoming the same. I want to share now my insights (sorry if it’s too “heavy.” I’ll do this for Busby SEO Challenge!)

Philosophical point of view applies it in a more complicated manner and science bases everything according to the naturally occurring things in our environment and theories. Philosophy in terms of learning comes from mainly what people see or expect in learning. It is a theory about the proper behavior of individuals learning about their environment. Examples of philosophical viewpoints of learning mainly came from proverbs and quotes from many intellectuals. In scientific point of view, we are ‘fed’ by ideas to enhance our minds. Our scientific point of view comes from school and enriched by it. We are not a ‘Tabula Rasa’, our mind is not empty, and we are similar to a newly produced computer that lacks in software but is nevertheless ready to have one. No matter what approach that the new science suggests, it appears like its aim or goal is like what philosophy focuses on. It relies heavily in theories but the product of applying those theories is similar to the goal of the philosophical point-of-view. Science just applied more ‘scientific’ terms to the philosophical terms. More or less, they are the same.

Well, that’s it for my first Busby SEO Challenge post!
